A brief open letter to Sen. Rev. Diaz (D-NY)

Dear Senator Diaz,
Perhaps you have noticed, but many of your constituents in the State of New York are gay. You have said that you "are a Democrat, and will always be a Democrat." As a member of the LGBT community but not one of your constituents, I can confidently say that your alienation of us is un-democratic. The reason for our indignation is simple: We are people entitled to the same rights of citizenship as every other citizen of this country. I hope that you will realize that what makes this party, and this country great is the diversity of it's people. We don't need more divisive politics; not in this country, and especially not in our party. I hope you are swiftly voted out of office in the next cycle unless you come to your senses with regard to the matter of permitting gay people to marry.
